SS13 TREND ALERT: Transparency

Posted by: Verónica Maya

We have been loving this trend for a while now and it looks like it won’t be going anywhere fast. Coming back with a splash, ladies and gents, we are happy to announce the return of TRANSPARENCY! This was a trend that we saw a ton of on the SS13 runways and we’re so excited because we absolutely love its sex appeal qualities. Designers gave us pieces with bold and discrete transparent cuts placed ingeniously across a woman’s body, providing us with the yearning for those perfectly romantic candle lit summer nights. Read on to see a sprinkle of what’s in store for you this summer…

Louis Vuitton is pioneering this trend in his latest collection with subtle hints of TRANSPARENCY as well as completely TRANSPARENT pieces.

trans1 trans2 trans3However if you prefer a more subtle feel which has more of a spring feel to it you should check out the exquisite Elie Saab collection.

As usual his collection embodied the perfect balance of lace and TRANSPARENCY giving it a stunning elegance that only Saab seems to consistently carry off whatever the collection.

trans7 trans8 trans9In smaller doses or throughout the entire ensemble, Alberta Ferretti channeled this trend in a feminine and romantic manner.

trans10 trans11 trans12 trans13 trans15Carolina Herrera meanwhile introduced a variation of TRANSPARENCYless dramatic with opaque fabric spread throughout the collection.

trans19 trans20 trans21If you are looking to introduce a more risque ensemble into your wardrobe take a glance at Giambattista Valli’s pieces to get some inspiration.
