What’s Your “M” Skirt?

Posted by: Verónica Maya

Ok ladies, let’s get down to business and talk about this week’s staple wardrobe piece: Le SKIRT

Whatever shape or size, the skirt is a must have piece year round. There’s a skirt for everyone out there. Whether you’re into a more mod sixties skirt, wrap skirt, mini skirt, long mini skirtmidi skirt or even, extra-large midi skirt, the options are endless really. But with so much variety how do we choose?

Today AGORIQUE helps guide you through the first step in defining your perfect skirt for this season’s showdown. Are you a Mini, Midi and Maxi?

Which is your “M” skirt of choice?

Mini SKIRT

The first rays of sunshine are out (even in London) and it’s time to unleash your inner goddess complete with a bit of leg flashing.

The Mini Skirt and its teeny tiny dimensions will show off just the right amount of leg for summer. Now all you need to do is choose between flowing, tube, straight, printed or brocade with handcrafted details. Or maybe a combo?

Fendi (vuelo skirt)

Michael Kors (tubo skirt mini)

kenzo ( mini estampada)

Dolce Gabbana ( Mini skirt brocado)

How mini should it be? That all depends on how mini bold you are feeling…

Midi SKIRT

The 1950s required a whole new skirt length, accompanied perfectly by a glamorous pair of stilettos. If you want to create an authentically ladylike look with an eternally feminine and elegant feel, the Midi skirt is perfect.

Midi Capa ( Rochas, Valentino and Marni)

Wear it with a blouse or jacket for a Grace Kelly inspired look or if it’s more of a rocker look that you’re after then sport it with a boyish shirt or cropped leather jacket.

Michael Kors ROCK

If the glamour of past decades is more your cup of tea then the Midi tube skirt is perfect for accentuating your figure. You can find this piece in everything from geometric pop print to minimalist leather and even pure white.

midi tubo ( Petter Pilotto, Marni, Stella McCartney)

Combine it with a mini-top, checked print blouse or a sporty shirt. You could also do like Burberry and team it with a bomber jacket!

Burberry Prorsum ( Midi cazadora)

Maxi SKIRT

Go for the over sized look for a daytime look or the classic flowing look for an evening look.

Christian Dior ( clasico maxi )

Team it with a short jacket or tight fitted cardigan.

Or maybe you fancy a look hot enough for exploring the Savannah with this safari look, complete with silk or satin skirts in khaki and earth tones.

“M” SKIRTS in Origami were definitely making waves on the runways this season.

Paper art could be seen everywhere and on every type of fabric from leather, to satin and muslin. Making it a central piece to many collections.

Will you be sporting a MINI SKIRT or a work of art? That is the question.

If it’s a more subtle look that you’re after all you need are a few simple strategies.

Origami corte ( Lanvin, Anthony Vaccarello, DKNY)

Origami gives your look a feeling of movement.

Tip: if you feel these slits are too much then play with layers as Preen does.
