The AGORIQUE team are fresh off the plane from Copenhagen Fashion Week, one of the largest fashion festivals in northern Europe which this year hosted 45 shows, four fairs, 2,600 clothing brands and 60,000 guests. We had the chance to go to three of Scandinavia’s hottest fashion trade shows: Gallery, Vision and CIFF.
Danish fashion is known for its simplicity, elegance and functionality and we saw this all over the city and in the collections of Danish Designers like Beate Godager, Anne Sofie Madsen, Malene Birger and Peter Jensen.
We loved the originality of the brands we meet walking around the trade shows and visiting boutiques like Storm which had a pop up store at CIFF to celebrate their 20th anniversary.
And of course the Scandinavian street style was second to none. Jessica from Sweden sported a unique Scandinavian look in a jacket by Swedish mega style blogger and designer Elin Kling for Nelly and pants by Monki. Her clutch was from Primark which just shows you don’t need to spend a fortune to look fab.
Our second style icon Joanna Vikstron from Sweden had that classic clean cut look that the Scandinavians know how to pull off in a Cos jacket and top, Why Red pants and bag of her own design.
Our third trend setter was Kat Billings, editor of MPDClick – an online trend forecasting service. She was sporting a key trend for this season: overalls. She paired them with a mix of vintage pieces from the UK and a top by Danish designer Peter Jensen. She completed the look with shoes by UK high street brand Kurt Geiger and bag from Kate Middleton’s favourite Reiss . We loved her look so much we had to pick her brain for the hottest designer of 2013, her answer: Karen and Jonathan Saunders.
Buyer Angel Wei was the perfect ambassador for her native China, sporting a simple East meets West look with amazing headwear by Italian designer Patrizia Pepe, Prada bag, Kurt Geiger boots and Nué Notes top. The Shanghai based e-comerce fashion buyer told us she has fallen in love with the Danish designer Malene Birger.
We adored Asya from London’s look. She was rocking simple utility chic in Cheap Monday trousers and shoes from UK store Office. We loved her eye catching bag from Pauls Boutique.
Last but not least was Maja Pappinen sporting an ultra Scandinavian look. She was wearing scandi-chic label Monki shirt and bag, trousers from Weekday, and shoes from Dr Martens.
