With not only one, but two fashion events a year, Brazil is quickly becoming the fashion hub to add to your radar.  Keep a pulse on designers such as Osklen, Issa, Carlos Miele, Pedro Lourenço, Alexandre Herchcovitch and Lucas Nascimento – quickly becoming international household names in the fashion industry.

Carlos Miele’s designs were recently revealed in Paris Vogue and have been drapped on stars like Florence Welch and Milla Jovovich.

The two fashion events provide forums to express both Brazilian lifestyle, street and diffusion brands (Fashion Rio) and more directional designers that address both domestic and global recognition.

In a recent article in the Guardian, Garcia Cabral of Luminosidade, the company responsible for both Sao Paulo Fashion week and Fashion Rio, maintains, “We Brazilians have a different relationship with our bodies from other women; it’s part of our DNA, which is expressed on the catwalk through sexy clothes.”  Cabral further elucidates that this particular portrait of the woman brings a fresh perspective for fashion in the future.  The next steps for success are to push Brazilian fashion from the domestic to global atmosphere.
