TIP #4: Update your Collection.
Hey, if there’s one thing we can learn from Zara’s retailing strategy, it’s how often they rework the inventory in their stores. Not only do they receive new shipments twice a week, but they move the products around the store up to three times a week! Now we don’t expect anyone to have the resources to do this as often as Zara, but we do expect you to change things around a bit. And let us tell you why…You’ve just dressed your window with your Fall merchandise. Sarah, a girl in her mid-twenties, passes your store every day on her way to and from work. She passes your window twice a day five times a week – she sees your window at least 40 times per month. And of those 40 times, she walked in once and bought that dress that caught her eye in the window.
You have so much merchandise that Sarah would love, but she’s a busy girl. She sees what she likes, she buys it and leaves. But, if you dressed that window a couple more times a week or a month, Sarah would walk in more often and you would inevitably boost your sales.
